Tear Trough Filler

Tear trough filler is an injectable treatment used to restore volume beneath the eyes and create a smoother transition between the under-eye area and the cheeks.

It may be suitable for clients with hollow under-eyes, visible tear troughs, or a tired-looking appearance caused by volume loss. A doctor’s assessment is required because not every type of under-eye concern is suitable for filler.

The amount depends on the depth of the hollows, facial structure, and the chosen product. The doctor will recommend an appropriate volume after examining the under-eye area.

A change may be visible soon after treatment, although swelling can affect the initial appearance. Your clinician will assess the result once the treated area has settled.

Results may last approximately 6–18 months, depending on the filler product, metabolism, injection volume, and individual response.

Recovery varies. Swelling, bruising, tenderness or redness may last several days. Persistent swelling, unevenness or a blue-grey hue can also occur. Rare but serious vascular complications may affect the skin or vision. Seek urgent medical care for severe pain, pale or discoloured skin, or any change in vision. Follow your clinician’s aftercare instructions.

Avoid rubbing or pressing the under-eye area. Intense exercise, saunas, alcohol, and excessive heat should generally be avoided for 24–48 hours.
